94th Academy Awards Winners | Oscars 2022 Winners
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) presented the 94th Academy Awards or Oscars 2022 which honored the best films released between March 1 and December 31, 2021. The ceremony took place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, and is hosted by Regina Hall, Amy Schumer, and Wanda Sykes. Awards were given in ten categories.
CODA received the Oscars 2022 in the Best Picture category. Maximum awards (6 categories) were won by a science fiction adventure movie, Dune. For the first time, a woman has won the Best Director category after being nominated twice- Jane Campion. The Eyes of Tammy Faye has won the Oscars 2022 in two categories. Troy Kotsur is the first male deaf actor to win the Oscars.
The Oscars winners are given a copy of the golden statuette (The Academy Award of Merit), which depicts a knight rendered in the Art Deco style. The first Academy Awards was presented in 1929. The Awards is the oldest of the four major annual American Awards i.e., older than Emmy Awards (Television), Tony Awards (Theater) and Grammy Awards (Music).

8. Best Visual Effects- Dune- Paul Lambert, Tristan Myles, Brian Connor and Gerd Nefzer
9. Best Writing (Original Screenplay)- Kenneth Branagh for Belfast
10. Best Writing (Adapted Screenplay)-Sian Heder for CODA
11. Best Music (Original Song)- "No Time to Die"- Music and lyrics by Billie Eilish and Finneas O'Connell
12. Best Music (Original Score)- Dune- Hans Zimmer
13. Best Film Editing- Joe Walker for "Dune"
14. Best Documentary (Feature)- Summer of Soul
15. Best Documentary (Short Subject)- "The Queen of Basketball" , Ben Proudfoot
16. Best Director- Jane Campion for "The Power of the Dog"
17. Best Actor- Will Smith for "King Richard"
18. Best Actress- Jessica Chastain for “The Eyes of Tammy Faye”
19. Best Sound- Dune- Mac Ruth, Mark Mangini, Theo Green, Doug Hemphill and Ron Bartlett
20. Best Costume Design-Jenny Beaven for "Cruella"
21. Best Makeup and Hairstyling- Linda Dowds, Stephanie Ingram and Justin Raleigh for "The Eyes of Tammy Faye"
22. Best Production Design- Dune
23. Best Picture- CODA
