IBPS SO
IBPS Specialist Officers or the IBPS SO is a Post in the banks that cater to some special needs of the Banks. The Institute of Banking Personnel or the IBPS helps Public Sector Banks with the recruitment of these Specialist Officers or the SO through IBPS SO examination.
The IBPS conducts the CRP SPL Examination (IBPS SO Exam) every year for the recruitment of Specialist Officers. The IBPS SO exam is for the recruitment into the following posts:

- Agricultural Field Officer (Scale 1)
- Rajbhasha Adhikari (Scale 1)
- Law Officer (Scale 1)
- HR/Personnel Officer (Scale 1)
- Marketing Officer (Scale 1)
The IBPS SO Examination is conducted in the following four stages during the course of six months:
- Preliminary Examination
- Main Examination
- Interview
- Provisional Allotment
The candidate has to clear all four stages to be selected in one of the participating banks as a Specialist Officer.

IBPS SO 2019 Application Form
The IBPS SO 2019 online application process will continue from 6 November 2019 to 26 November 2019. The application can only be made online through the IBPS website.
The steps to apply for the IBPS SO Exam are:
1. Visit the IBPS website.
2. Navigate the site and click on the link for the Registration Portal.
3. Enter the Basic Information and click on “Save and Next”.
4. Note down the Provisional Registration Number and Password generated.
5. Enter all the other details as required and upload the required documents in the prescribed format.
6. Verify all details before clicking on the final submit button.
7. Make Online payment for the application fee.
8. Print the e-receipt and the application form for further reference.

IBPS SO Eligibility Criteria
General
1. Nationality:
i. Citizen of India OR
ii. Subject of Nepal or Bhutan OR
iii. A Tibetan Refugee, migrated to India before 01st January 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India OR
iv. a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
For categories (ii), (iii) and (iv), the person applying should have a certificate of eligibility issued to them by the Government of India in their favour.

IBPS SO 2019 Admit Card
Admit Card details for IBPS SO 2019 would be made available as and when the Admit Cards are available for download. As per the tentative schedule, the Admit Cards can be expected as follows:
· Preliminary Examination: December 2019
· Main Examination: January 2020
· Interview: February 2020
Steps to download the Admit Card are:
1. Visit the IBPS website.
2. Click on the link to Download Call Letter/ Admit Card.
3. Enter the login credentials and the captcha image.
4. Click on the Login button to download the Admit Card.
The candidates are required to check for the validity of all details printed on the admit card. If there is any discrepancy, the candidate should immediately contact the concerned authorities.
An original photo ID proof along with one photocopy should be kept handy, to be taken along with the Admit Card to the Examination Hall.
The candidates are requested to keep visiting this space for regular updates on the release of Admit Card at each stage.
IBPS SO 2019 Result
The result for each stage is declared separately as and when the exam is conducted. The result is either declared either in the downloadable PDF format or online.
If the result is declared in the PDF format, Registration/Roll numbers of the candidates who have qualified for the next stage are mentioned. Candidates can search for their Registration/Roll number in the list.

IBPS SO Cut-off
The cut-off gives the candidate an idea about how well the candidate has to prepare for the next stage of examination.
The cut-off is different for each stage of the examination process.
- IBPS SO Preliminary Examination has a sectional as well as an overall cut-off that the candidate has to obtain in order to qualify for the Main Examination.
- IBPS SO Main Examination has an overall cut-off that has to be achieved by the candidate to be shortlisted for the Interview.
- The candidate must get a minimum of 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD Candidates) marks out of a total of 100 marks.

Job Profile of a Specialist Officer:
1. I.T. Officer (Scale 1):
The I.T. Officer is responsible to take care of all software, hardware, and networking related maintenance. With almost all facets of banking becoming digital, the role of the I.T. Officer becomes extremely important. The I.T. Officer is expected to handle the Core Banking System and provide assistance for all ATM, Internet, and Mobile Banking queries. Along, with this, s/he is also expected to contribute to the improvement of the Banking Software.
2. Agricultural Field Officer (Scale 1):
The Agricultural Field Officer is someone who is expected to understand the needs of the rural populace and provide solutions along with making sure that they are aware of the various benefits and schemes being provided for them by the government in terms of financial assistance.
3. Rajbhasha Adhikari (Scale 1):
The Rajbhasha Adhikari’s role in the organisation is to make sure all documents important to the Bank are translated and proofread. This SO Officer is expected to conduct training, workshops, etc. to help other banking staff become well-versed with the local language.
4. Law Officer (Scale 1):
The Law Officer as the name suggests is responsible to take care of all legal matters including legal documents pertaining to the bank.
5. HR/Personnel Officer (Scale 1):
The HR/Personnel Officer is one of the important participants in the recruitment process of the bank. The HR/ Personnel Officer is expected to know and suggest changes, if need be, to the HR Policies of the bank.
6. Marketing Officer (Scale 1):
The Marketing Officer is the one who brings more business to the bank by creating new or improving existing policies or innovative ideas, that would further contribute to the bank’s profit. The Marketing Officer is also expected to handle all marketing channels, be it print or digital and co-ordinate with them.
