UPPSC Civil Judge Qualification Needed

A candidate should hold the following educational qualification for the UP PCS J exam:

• To apply for UPPSC Judicial Services Exam, aspiring candidates should possess a Bachelor of Laws from a University established by Law in U.P. or any other University of India recognized for this purpose by the Governor on or before the last date of submission of the UPPSC Civil Judge application form for the exam, OR
• The candidate must be an Advocate enrolled under the provisions of the Advocate Act 1961 or a Barrister of England or Northern Ireland or a Member Faculty of Advocates in Scotland and is entitled to practice in the Court or Courts subordinate, and
• The candidate must possess a thorough Knowledge of Hindi in Devnagri Script.

UPPCS J Prelims Exam Pattern

The UPPSC PCS J Preliminary exam is a pen-and-paper exam with objective-type questions.

• UPPSC Civil Judge Prelims exam will be conducted for a total of 450 marks.
• There will be a negative marking of 1/3rd of the marks awarded for the correct answer, in case the answer is wrong.
• The UPPSC Civil Judge Paper-1 is of 150 marks and Paper-2 is of 300 marks.

UPPCS J Mains Exam Pattern

The UPPSC Civil Judge Mains Exam is a written exam with descriptive-type questions. The UP PCS J Mains exam is divided into two six papers Paper I: General Knowledge, Paper II: English Language, Paper III: Hindi Language, Paper IV: Law-I- (Substantive Law), Paper V: Law-II (Procedure and Evidence), Paper VI: Law-III (Penal, Revenue and Local Laws).
