SSC CGL 2022 exam pattern consists of Tier 1, Tier 2, and Document Verification process. The exam pattern of SSC CGL Tier 2 has changed completely for SSC CGL 2022 exam as mentioned in the SSC CGL 2022 notification released by Staff Selection Commission. Major Changes in SSC CGL Exam Pattern 2022
For a massive 20,000 vacancies in SSC CGL 2022, the exam pattern has been revised and there are some major changes in the SSC CGL Exam Pattern. The major changes in the SSC CGL exam pattern have taken place in the SSC CGL Tier 2 exam pattern and making SSC CGL Tier 1 only a qualifying exam. The major two updates in SSC CGL Exam Pattern can be listed as follows:

SSC CGL Tier - 1 Exam Pattern 2022
SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam Pattern has not changed but the use of the score of Tier 1 exam has changed. Earlier, SSC CGL Tier 1 exam was used to shortlist candidates for SSC CGL Tier 2 and for forming the final merit as well. Now, as per the latest SSC CGL exam pattern 2022, the Tier 1 paper of SSC CGL will only be used to shortlist candidates for SSC CGL Tier 2 exam = and the score of the SSC CGL Tier 1 exam will not play any role in the final merit. The Merit list of SSC CGL 2022 will be prepared through papers of the SSC CGL Tier 2 exam only.
The SSC CGL Tier 1 exam will consist of four sections of 25 questions each. These sections are:
- General Awareness
- General Intelligence and Reasoning
- Quantitative Aptitude
- English Comprehension

Negative Marking in SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam
There will be a negative marking of -0.50 for each wrong answer.
SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam Pattern 2022
The SSC CGL Tier 2 paper pattern has changed significantly in SSC CGL 2022 recruitment. SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam takes place in three phases namely, Paper 1, Paper 2, and Paper 3. Paper 1 is mandatory for all the posts of SSC CGL and Paper 2 is for the candidates applying for Junior Statistical Officer and Paper 3 will be for the candidates who have applied for Assistant Audit Officer or Assistant Accounts Officer. The major change in the SSC CGL exam pattern has taken place in Paper 1 of Tier 2. The new pattern will include three sections in Paper 2 of SSC CGL Tier 2 exam. Negative Marking in SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam
There will be negative marking in Tier 2 Paper 1, Paper 2 and Paper 3 as follows:
- Negative Marking of -1 Mark for each wrong answer in Section 1, Section 2, and Module 1 of Section 3 in Paper 1 of the SSC CGL Tier 2 exam.
- There will be a negative marking of -0.50 for each wrong answer in Paper 2 and Paper 3 of the SSC CGL Tier 2 exam.
