RBI Grade B Selection Process - Officers in Grade B (General)
For selection in Grade B (DR) - General posts, a candidate has to clear the three phases of the exam. The important points related to the RBI Grade B selection process of Grade B Officers - General are given below:
- All eligible candidates can appear for the Phase I online examination.
- There will be a sectional cut-off in Phase I online examination and a separate overall cut-off also. If a candidate clears the sectional cut-off in all four sections of the RBI Grade B Phase I exam then the candidate is shortlisted for the Phase II exam.
- Candidates will be shortlisted for the interview on the basis of the overall cut-off in Phase II (Paper I + Paper II + Paper III).
- RBI Grade B Final Merit - The Final merit will be prepared on the basis of Phase II marks and the Interview marks.
RBI Grade B Selection Process - Officers in Grade B (DEPR/ DSIM)
For selection in Grade B (DR) - DEPR/ DSIM posts, a candidate has to clear Phase 1, Phase 2, and the Interview. The important points related to the same are given below:
- All eligible candidates who have applied can appear in the Phase I exam, comprising Paper I and Paper II.
- There will be a separate cut-off for Paper I and Paper II and an aggregate cut-off for Phase I. Candidates who clear the sectional and overall cut-off will be eligible for the Phase II exam.
- The candidates will appear for the Phase II exam comprising Paper I and Paper II. Candidates who will clear the cut-off for Phase II are eligible for the interview.
- The RBI Grade B Interview evaluates the aspirant’s communication skills, personality, and suitability for the job.
- RBI Grade B Final Merit - For DEPR/ DSIM posts, the final merit will be prepared on the basis of Phase I, Phase II, and interview scores.
RBI Grade B 2023 Eligibility Criteria
Aspirants intending to apply for the RBI Grade B Officers exam must ensure that they fulfill the minimum RBI Grade B 2023 Eligibility Criteria as specified by the Reserve Bank Of India in their notification. Applicants who do not meet the RBI Grade B 2023 exam Eligibility Criteria will not be allowed to apply for the exam. The RBI Grade B Eligibility Criteria, such as nationality, minimum qualification, age limit, and number of attempts, is as follows:

You are eligible for the RBI Grade B exam:
- If you are a citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 intending to settle in India, or
- Indian-origin citizens who migrated from Burma, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, East African countries of Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zaire, Malawi, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

- The minimum grade for SC, ST, and PwBD candidates should be 50% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/ years.
Desirable:
- A Doctorate Degree in Economics, or research or teaching experience in economics, or publication in the field/area of Economics in standard journals.
- Candidates having M.PhiI Degree and Doctorate Degree from a recognized Indian / Foreign University / Institute in economics will be eligible for relaxation in the upper age limit by 2 years and 4 years respectively.
- Candidates having Master's Degree with research / teaching experience at a recognized Indian / Foreign University / Institute in economics will be eligible for relaxation in upper age limit to the extent of number of years of such experience subject to a maximum of three years. For experience, probationary period will not be reckoned.

- Master's Degree in Mathematics with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters / years and one year post graduate diploma in Statistics or related subjects from an Institute of repute; OR
- Master’s degree course in Data Science/ Artificial Intelligence/ Machine Learning/ Big Data Analytics, with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/ years from a recognized University/ Institute, an institute of national importance, UGC/ AICTE approved programme; OR
- Four-year Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/ years in Data Science/ AI/ ML/ Big Data Analytics from a recognized University/ Institute, an institute of national importance, UGC/ AICTE approved programme; OR
- Two years Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years from a recognized University/ Institute, an institute of national importance, UGC/ AICTE approved programme.
