SSC conducts Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination every year for the recruitment of staff for various posts under different ministries and departments of the Government of India. SSC CGL 2019 exam is currently undergoing. SSC CGL 2019 Tier-II exam is tentatively scheduled for 14-17 October 2020.

SSC CGL Examination is conducted in four stages which are conducted over different days. The pattern for each tier differs as per the syllabus and pattern.

Some important points to note for SSC CGL Tier 1 examination:
In SSC CGL 2019, based on results from Tier I, qualified candidates are eligible to take the Tier II and Tier III exams. Earlier Candidates have to qualify Tier II to sit for Tier III exam.
SSC CGL Tier II: CGL Mains Exam
Candidates who have cleared Tier I exam are eligible for SSC CGL Tier II and SSC CGL Tier III exam.

It is a written test to test your writing skills. It is a descriptive pen and paper mode exam (offline).

Tier IV: Data Entry Skill Test/Computer Proficiency Test
It includes two exams depending on the positions applied for:
This test is for candidates applying for the post of Tax Assistants (in Central Excise and Income Tax). The test is of qualifying nature.
In this test, the criteria is to have 8000 key depression per hour. A passage will be given, which will have 2000 key depressions in the time duration is 15 minutes.
This tests the basic knowledge and understanding of the usage of computers (to make slides for the presentation, spreadsheets and word processing). It is for candidates applying for the post of Assistant Section Officer in CSS, MEA & AFHQ. Also for candidates applying for post of Assistant in SFIO, Assistant (GSI) and for Inspector in CBIC.
The test is of qualifying nature.
It comprises of three modules: Word Processing, Spreadsheet, and Generation of Slides.
