SSC 10+2 CHSL 2019: How to prepare for the exam?
The Staff Selection Commission of India conducts competitive exams for recruitment of Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) posts. Students who have cleared standard 12th in any stream from any known board or university get an opportunity of appearing for government jobs by giving the SSC 10+2 CHSL.
The selection procedure for SSC 10+2 CHSL 2019 posts happens through the following examinations:
- Tier-I: Computer based examination i.e. CBT
- Tier-II: Descriptive Paper
- Tier-III: Typing test/ skill test
The candidate must be well prepared for appearing in these examinations. The candidate gets the job only if all tiers of the examination are cleared. One can only attempt next tier if the previous one is cleared.
Following are some preparation tips for SSC 10+2 CHSL 2019 examinations:
- Know the exam pattern & syllabus well:

- Keep the previous years’ cut-off in mind:
The candidates must know the previous year’s cut-off marks so that they can put in minimum efforts to get maximum marks to clear the cut-off. It helps the candidates to set their targets for the examination.
- Time management is the key to good results:
Equal time should be given to each subject. Consistency is an important factor. The candidate must be consistent in his/ her preparation. The preparation must include reading, writing & typing practices on an everyday basis. The candidate should start preparing for the next examination even before the result of the previous examination is announced.

There are many video tutorials available online that explain about the concepts in detail and provide tips & tricks for solving the questions that can be of some help.
- Practice makes a man perfect:
Practice is the most important part of the preparation. Practice as many questions as you can from the previous years’ question papers and books available in the market. The practice must include writing essays, letters and applications for SSC 10+2 CHSL Tier-II examinations. One can refer to books and previous year question papers to get an idea of topics for the writing section. Keep yourself abreast with the current happenings by reading regularly as it helps know the current state of affairs and helps boost vocabulary skills. One must also practice typing regularly.
- Test yourself:
Regularly take mock tests and solve sample question papers to know how much you’ve understood and how well you’re prepared.
- Concentration:
Concentration is a key factor during the preparation of exam. It is equally important while giving the exam. Proper diet and adequate sleep also better the concentration level.
Some special tips to qualify SSC 10+2 CHSL 2019 Tier-I examination
- Solving the questions of general intelligence section needs proper understanding of the questions. The candidate must have advance understanding for this section. Be careful that you do not misunderstand the question. Regular practice is the key to solving this problem.
- The questions in the section of Quantitative Aptitude are complex and consume more time than other sections. So, attempt this section later. Prefer to finish the other sections first.
- The English section of the paper is less time consuming, but the questions can be dubious. This section is a scoring section in the paper. Maintain focus while solving it.
- The General Awareness section requires minimum time and is the most scoring section if you are aware of what’s happening around you.
