INDIAN AIR FORCE AFCAT 2019: How to Apply? Check eligibility criteria

The Indian Air Force has announced the commencement of online applications for AFCAT 02/2019 for men and women to work with the Air Force as Commissioned Officers in Flying and Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) Branches, for courses commencing July 2020.

The Application process begins on June 01, 2019 and ends on June 30, 2019

Steps to apply for the same are mentioned below.

  1. Click here to apply.
  2. Create your account by entering the following details:
      • Full Name
      • Father’s Name
      • Mother’s Name
      • Email Address
      • Mobile Number
      • Secret Question & Answer
      • Captcha Code
  3. Click on the Sign-Up button to register OR Reset button to re-enter details (in case of any error).
  4. Once registration is done, a system generated password is sent with other login credentials on the email address registered by the candidate.
  5. The candidate must login with the system generated credentials to reset the password.
  6. The candidate must re-login with the new password to begin the application process.



Criteria /Type of Duty

Flying Branch

Ground Duty





20 to 24 years as on 01 July 2020 i.e. born between 02 July 1996 to 01 July 2000 (both dates inclusive).


Upper Age Relaxation for candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India) by 2 years; 26 years i.e. born between 02 July 1994 to 01 July 2000 (both dates inclusive).

20 to 26 years as on 01 July 2020 i.e. born between 02 July 1994 to 01 Jul 2000 (both dates inclusive).

Marital Status

  • Unmarried, below the age of 25 at the time of commencement of the course.
  • Widowers/ Widows/ Divorcees below the age of 25, not eligible.
  • Marriage post application will lead to disqualification even though candidate may have been successful at SSB or medical.
  • Marriage during training shall lead to discharge and candidate shall be liable to pay all expenses incurred on him/her by the Government.
  • Candidates above the age of 25, who are married will neither be provided married accommodation nor would they be allowed to live with family during training.
