UNCCD COP 14 is being hosted by India in India Expo Centre and Mart, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh from 2-14September 2019. United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) was adopted on 17 June 1994 and came into force on 26 December 1996 with 197 (196 countries+ European Union) parties to the convention. The convention mainly focuses on the arid, semi-arid, and dry sub-humid areas of the world, especially the African region. The first session of the conference of parties was held in 1997 in Italy. While the 13^th session of COP was organized by China in 2017.

Desertification and land degradation have been identified as one of the critical global challenge (threat to biodiversity and food security) which needs to be dealt together by providing support to the vulnerable regions through latest technology and successful traditional practices.
