In June 2018, Seva Bhoj Yojana was launched by the Ministry of Culture, that aims to reduce the financial burden of charitable religious institutions. Under the scheme, the Charitable religious institutions like temples, gurudwaras, mosques, church, matths, etc. which provide Food/Prasad/Langar/ Bhandara free of cost to the public will get reimbursement from the Central share of CGST and IGST on purchase of raw items used in the preparation of the food.
