RRB JE 2019 Posts and Grade Pay

As per the announcement made by the railway recruitment board, 13487 vacancies are available for RRB JE. The official declaration was made on 29th of December, with 14033 vacancies. On revision, it was stated that a total of 13487 posts will be available. The applications for the RRB JE exams began on 2nd of January, 2019 and closed on 31st January, 2019. The exam date has been announced by RRB, the exam for CBT-I is going to take place on 22nd May, 2019.

The selection for RRB JE is carried out in three stages:

  1. CBT 1
  2. CBT 2
  3. Document verification and Medical Examination

Pay scale of Junior Engineer after 7th pay commission:

As per the 7th CPC matrix, the pay scale decided for Junior engineers, (in information technology, Depot material superintendent, and chemical& metallurgical assistant) is decided as follows:

Basic pay is Rs.35400/- with several other allowances in addition to it. Given below is the total salary structure as provided by RRB.

In addition to this, an RRB engineer will receive other benefits and allowances with varying amount according to the official rules of the area in which they are posted. (For example, the house rent allowance depends upon the population of the city in which a JE is posted)

The transport allowance, City compensatory allowance, Railway duty pass, educational allowance, medical facilities and several other allowances are offered as well.
