State Bank of India is conducting exam for selection of Probationary Officer. There are three phases in selection of SBI PO:

  1. Phase – I: Preliminary examination
  2. Phase – II: Main examination
  3. Phase – III: Group exercises and interview

Selection criteria for the SBI PO Main exam:

  • Merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks scored by candidates in the preliminary examination.
  • Instead of declaring the cut-off marks, the candidates equal to 10 times the number of vacancies (approx.) are selected for the SBI PO main examination.

Selection criteria for the SBI PO phase-III examination:

  • Merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks scored by candidates in the preliminary examination.
  • Instead of declaring the cut-off marks, the candidates equal to 3 times the number of vacancies (approx.) are selected for the SBI PO phase III examination i.e. Group exercises and interview from top of the merit list

Same as the English language syllabus of SBI PO Phase – I Preliminary examination

 

For the SBI PO Phase –II descriptive test candidate is asked to write an essay and letter on any topic related to banking, economics, politics, reforms in these fields etc.  Each question carries 25 marks and the writing is to be done on the computer as it is an online test.

The candidates who have registered under OBC category have to submit a government approved OBC certificate with ‘Non-creamy layer’ clause during interview and GE sessions. If they fail to do so, their interview will be taken considering them in general category.

SBI PO 2019: Final selection

  • A merit list of candidates will be prepared by following scheme:

75 marks from main examination (marks out of 250 are converted to 75)

+

25 marks from GE & interview (marks out of 50 are converted to 25)

  • The marks of preliminary exams are not counted.
