A shopkeeper intends to sell a product Marked at ₹ 1250 at 25% gain after allowing a discount of 20%. What would be the gain% on the product if he doesn’t allow any discount?
Answer
Correct Answer : c ) \(56.25\)%
Explanation :We know that,
\({MP \over CP} \)=\( {100 \pm {Profit / loss} \space \% \over {100-Discount} \space \% }\)
\({1250 \over CP}={1258 \over 80}\)
CP = ₹ 800
Now, if no discount has been given then the marked price will be the selling price for the product
Selling Price = Marked price = ₹ 1250
We know,
\(Gain \%={Selling \space price-Cost \space price \over Cost \space price}*100\)
⇒\({1250-800 \over 800}*100=56.25\)%
Hence, (c) is the correct answer.
