Question of The Day19-08-2021

A Shopkeeper sold two types of rice at the same selling price, one at the profit of 25% and another at the loss of 25%. Find his total profit or loss percentage.

Answer

Correct Answer : a ) 6.25% loss

Explanation :

According to the question

Profit made on the first type of rice = 25%

Loss made on the second type of rice = 25%

We know that

When the profit and loss percentage is equal then there is always the loss.

Loss percentage=\(x^2 \over 100\)

Where x is the percentage of profit and loss

Substituting the values

Overall Loss=\({25*25} \over 100\)

⇒ 6.25% loss

Hence, (a) is the correct answer.
