Bhasha Certificate Selfie Campaign

Ministry of Education has launched Bhasha Certificate Selfie Campaign to promote cultural diversity and multilingualism. It will also help in promoting the spirit of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat. The target of this initiative is to help 75 lakh people in acquiring basic conversational skills in Indian languages.

This campaign aims to promote Bhasha Sangam Mobile App is an initiative of the Ministry of Education and MyGov India. The app has been developed by a startup Multibhashi. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan launched the Bhasha Sangam mobile app. It is an online language learning platform where people can learn 100+ sentences of daily use other than their mother language in 22 Indian languages (mentioned in schedule 8th of the Constitution) with the help of the Bhasha Sangam mobile app.
Under this ‘Bhasha Certificate Selfie’ initiative, people are encouraged to upload their selfie with the certificate from their social media accounts with #BhashaCertificateselfie.
How can one get the Bhasha certificate?
- The user has to first download Bhasha Sangam Mobile App from the play store (available in both Android and iOS versions) to get the certificate authorized by the Ministry of Education.
- After this, the user has to select any of the 22 scheduled Indian languages and complete all the levels related to it.
- Thereafter, the user has to take a test. After this examination, he will get a certificate and can then upload a selfie with a certificate.
Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 31 October 2015 commemorating the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. It aims to celebrate unity in diversity and showcase the rich cultural heritage, traditions and customs of either State.
