UPPSC PCS 2019 PRELIMS ANSWER KEY AND PAPER ANALYSIS

On 15 December 2019, UPPSC conducted UP PCS Preliminary Examination of UP PCS 2019, for which the notification was out on 16^th October 2019. Paper-I is related to general studies topics like current events of national and international importance, the geography of India and the world, Indian national movement, General Science, Economic, and Social Development, history of India, and Indian Constitution and Governance, Biodiversity and Environment, etc. Paper-II consists of questions from various sections like General English (up to Class X level), General Hindi (up to Class X level), Reading Comprehension, General mental ability, Basic numeracy and Data Interpretation (up to Class X level), Logical reasoning and Analytical ability, Decision making and Problem-solving, etc.

The main highlights of the paper-I are as follows:

1. The paper level was moderate. In comparison to the 2018 paper, it was a bit difficult.

2. The paper was comparatively less factual as compared to the previous year paper.

3. As seen in earlier year papers there was no question specifically related to Uttar Pradesh.

4. There were no questions related to the Union or State Budget. 

5. There were a few questions from 2018 current affairs and even from 2015 current affairs.

The cutoff depends on paper I as paper II is qualifying in nature where one needs to get 33% of the maximum marks.
