UPSC Answer Key 2023

The UPSC Prelims Answer Key 2023 for the UPSC Prelims exam will be provided after careful analysis of each of the questions in the UPSC Question Paper 2023. As the candidates must be aware that there are two papers in UPSC Prelims Exam - General Studies Paper 1 and General Studies Paper 2 (CSAT). We will release the UPSC Answer Key 2023 for both papers on the same day of the exam.

UPSC Prelims 2023 Question Paper

UPSC Answer Key 2023 - General Studies Paper 1

The UPSC Prelims Exam is scheduled on 28 May 2023 and it comprises two papers - GS Paper 1 and CSAT. The GS Paper 1 exam will take place from 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM.

The UPSC GS Paper 1 exam will have 100 Questions and the UPSC Prelims Answer Key for ALl sets  - A, B, C, and D is given below in the table. The Answer Key will be updated for all the questions throughout the day and you can check your score at your convenience against our GS Paper 1 answer key.

UPSC Civil Services GS Paper 1 2023 Score Calculation

In UPSC Prelims GS Paper 1, there is a negative marking of -2/3 for each wrong answer and +2 score for each correct answer. You can calculate your UPSC Prelims GS Paper 1 score in the following manner:

Check your responses against the answer key provided by us and calculate the number of correct answers and the number of wrong answers. Let us say you have scored 80 correct answers and 15 wrong answers.

Now you can calculate your score as:

80 x 2 - 15 x 2/3 = 160 - 10 = 150

UPSC Prelims Answer Key 2023 of CSAT

The UPSC Civil Services Prelims exam has the second paper of the CSAT with 80 questions. The CSAT Paper of UPSC Prelims is qualifying in nature. Candidate needs to score at least 33% marks to qualify the CSAT paper. If a candidate clears the GS Paper 1 cut-off and scores less than 33% on the CSAT paper, then he/ she will not be considered for the UPSC Mains exam. So, kindly take the CSAT paper seriously and score above 33% on the paper.

UPSC Prelims Marking Scheme of General Studies Paper 2

You can calculate the score in the CSAT paper as follows:

Each correct answer will give you +2.5 marks and each wrong answer will give you -2.5/3 marks.

Let us say you have got 50 correct and 12 wrong answers. Then you can calculate the score as follows:

50 x 2.5 - 12 x 2.5/3 = 125 - 10 = 115

As this score is above the 33% (66 marks), you have qualified the CSAT paper.
