1. A delegation of 44 students from Ladakh and Kerala is visiting Nagaland as part of the Ashtalakshmi Darshan Youth Exchange Programme.

  • Nagaland University, Medziphema Campus, is the host of the visiting teams.
  • The visit will continue until February 14.
  • The programme has been started by the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region in collaboration with the North Eastern Council, Shillong.
  • The programme promotes the vision of “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” by promoting national integration, cultural understandingand mutual respect among diverse regions of India.
  • Under the programme, the visiting teams interacted with Nagaland statesman and Padma Bhushan awardee Dr. S.C. Jamir.
  • The programme includes classroom lectures, which focus on the eight North Eastern states.
  • The delegates are being taken on visit to historically and culturally significant locations in Nagaland.

2. India’s Arjun Babuta and Elavenil Valarivan won the gold medal.

  • They set  a world record and a champioship record in the 10m air rifle mixed team event.
  • The event was part of the 2026 Asian Rifle/Pistol Championship in New Delhi.
  • In the final, they scored a total of 505 points. This win allowed them to defend their Asian title successfully.
  • South Korea’s Kim Woorim and Kwon Eunji won the silver medal. They scored 501 points.
  • Japan’s Naoya Okada and Misaki Nobata won the bronze medal. They scored 437.9 points.
  • The previous world record was 502.7 points. It was held by Germany’s Hanna Buehlmeyer and Maximilian Ulbrich.
  • The German duo set this record at the ISSF Grand Prix in Slovenia in January 2026.

3. India announced a Special Economic Package worth 175 million US dollars for Seychelles.

  • The package will support Social Housing, E-Mobility, Vocational Training, Health, Defence, and Maritime Security in Seychelles.
  • India and Seychelles signed seven Memoranda of Understanding.
  • The MoUs cover health, meteorology, electronics, information technology, and governance.
  • One agreement promotes technical and scientific cooperation in weather services.
  • It links the India Meteorological Department with Seychelles’ meteorological authority.
  • Prime Minister Modi described Seychelles as a key maritime partner for India.
  • An MoU was signed to train Seychelles civil servants in India.
  • India will share its digital governance experience under a digital transformation agreement.
  • Cooperation in healthcare will include affordable medicines and medical tourism and health infrastructure development.
  • President Herminie said the visit reflects long-standing friendship between the two countries.
  • This is President Herminie’s first visit to India since taking office in October last year.

5. Amit Shah delivered the keynote address at National Conference on Tackling Cyber-Enabled Frauds and Dismantling the Ecosystem on 10 February 2026.

  • He delivered keynote address at the conference in New Delhi.
  • He also inaugurated the new Cybercrime Branch of the Central Bureau of Investigation.
  • He also launched the State Cyber Crime Coordination Centre Dashboard.
  • The dashboard belongs to the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) under the Ministry of Home Affairs. 
  • The two-day conference is being organised by the CBI in collaboration with the I4C.
  • As per Ministry of Home Affairs, the conference is aimed at building a shared understanding of the scale, trends and evolving nature of cyber-enabled frauds in India.
  • The conference will witness participation from senior officials and experts.
  • They would represent Central and State Law Enforcement Agencies, the Department of Telecommunications, the Department of Financial Services and the Reserve Bank of India.

6. “Vande Mataram Cyclothon 2026” has been launched by the Central Industrial Security Force.

  • The cyclothon has beeen flagged off on 10 February 2026.
  • It is a nationwide campaign to create public awareness about coastal security.
  • It marks 27 years of service by the CISF. It also commemorates 150 years of the song “Vande Mataram.”
  • Under the campaign, a group of 65 CISF cyclists is taking part in the event.
  • The cyclists are travelling through nine coastal states and four Union Territories.
  • The aim of cyclothon is to sensitise coastal communities about certain threats and to strenghthen coordination between citizens and security agencies.
  • The threats include drug trafficking, arms smuggling and explosives movement.
  • In Maharashtra, the cyclothon will begin from the Tarapur CISF unit. The Maharashtra leg will end in Ratnagiri on the 14th of the month. After that, the team will move onward to Goa.

7. The first BRICS Sherpa Meeting began in New Delhi on 10 February 2026.

  • The meeting is being held under India’s current chairship of BRICS.
  • Sudhakar Dalela is Secretary for Economic Relations and India’s BRICS Sherpa.
  • He highlighted key priorities of India’s Chairship are based on PM Modi’s vision for a people-centric and humanity-first approach.
  • He also highlighted the overall theme of Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability.
  • India is chairing BRICS for the fourth time. The country previously held the chairship in 2012, 2016. India last held the BRICS chairship in 2021.

8. Rohit Kumar Singh has been appointed as Chair of Global Value Chains Committee of USISPF.

  • He has been appointed as advisor to the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) Board of Directors.
  • As Chair of the Global Value Chains Committee, he will be working with USISPF’s global membership and government stakeholders to foster smooth, resilient and diversified supply chains.
  • Rohit Kumar Singh is former consumer affairs secretary. He is a 1989-batch IAS officer of Rajasthan Cadre.
  • He led India’s first AI-enabled grievance redressal ecosystem, which brought a paradigm shift to consumer protection.

9. The Ministry of Steel signed MoUs for 85 new projects in New Delhi.

  • The total investment in these projects exceeds ₹11,000 crore.
  • Fifty-five companies joined under the third round of the Production-Linked Incentive Scheme 1.2.
  • Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy said PLI 1.2 aims to build a resilient and globally competitive specialty steel sector.
  • The scheme supports the Make in India initiative. It also promotes the Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision.
  • PLI 1.2 encourages domestic production of advanced and strategic steel products.
  • The scheme helps reduce dependency on imports. It also conserves foreign exchange.

10. Minister of State for Electronics and IT Jitin Prasada inaugurated the STQC Lab Automation Portal.

  • The portal is called SATYA. The SATYA portal brings Standardisation Testing and Quality Certification (STQC) services onto a single digital platform.
  • The platform benefits citizens, industries, startups, MSMEs, and government departments.
  • Mr. Prasada said that SATYA advances citizen-centric digital governance. It improves public service delivery.
  • It also strengthens cybersecurity, data protection, and product quality.
