- India secured sixth place in the overall medal standings at the Asian Indoor Athletics Championships in Tianjin.
- Tejaswin Shankar won the the Men’s heptathlon event and secured India's only gold medal at the championships.
- Shankar scored 5,993 points to create a new national indoor record.
- He surpassed his previous record of 5,650 points cretaed in US in 2021.
- On the final day of the championships, India won three more medals.
- Pooja won silver medal in the high jump. Tajinderpal Singh Toor secured silver medal in the shot put. Ancy Sojan won bronze medal in the long jump.
- Host nation China topped medal standings with 34 medals, which include 10 gold, 11 silver and 13 bronze won during Asian Indoor Athletics Championships.

- The agreement provides air accident insurance of up to ₹1 crore. It also offers higher education support worth ₹4 lakh.

3. International Day of Women and Girls in Science 2026: 11 February
- Every year on 11 February, International Day of Women and Girls in Science is observed.
- It is observed to raise awareness about the role of women in achieving development goals.
- This year 11th edition of International Day of Women and Girls in Science was celebrated across the world.
- The theme of International Day of Women and Girls in Science 2026 is “From Vision to Impact: Redefining STEM by Closing the Gender Gap.”
- The 2026 International Day of Women and Girls in Science will shift the focus from recommendations and ideas to showcasing existing good practices and solutions to create a more inclusive science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) ecosystem.
- In 2015, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) declared 11 February as the International Day of Women and Girls in Science.
- On 20 December 2013, the General Assembly adopted a resolution on science, technology, and innovation for development.
- It recognizes that full and equal access to and participation in science, technology, and innovation for women and girls of all ages is essential to achieving gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls.
- Since 1998, UNESCO and the L'Oréal Foundation is organizing an award ceremony that honours women scientists of exceptional talent from around the world.

4. ‘White Revolution 2.0’ launched to strengthen dairy cooperatives and empower women.
- A cooperative-led initiative titled ‘White Revolution 2.0’ has been launched by the Centre to strengthen the dairy sector and women’s empowerment.
- The programme is being implemented by the Ministry of Cooperation to expand cooperative coverage and generate employment.
- A target has been set to increase milk procurement by dairy cooperatives by 50% over the next five years.
- Milk procurement by dairy cooperatives is projected to reach 1,007 lakh kg per day by 2028–29, the fifth year of implementation.
- The strategy focuses on expanding dairy cooperatives into uncovered areas and deepening their operational reach.
- The program also addresses malnutrition through a series of activities under White Revolution 2.0.
- These include creating and strengthening approximately 1.20 lakh new and existing Dairy Cooperative Societies (DCS), Multipurpose Dairy Cooperative Societies (M-DCS), and Multipurpose Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (M-PACS).
- New milk routes will be created and existing ones expanded to ensure better market linkage for farmers.
- Infrastructure support such as milk collection units, testing equipment, and bulk milk coolers will be provided as required.
- The initiative is being funded through the National Dairy Development Programme 2.0 of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying.
- Women, who form nearly 70% of the dairy workforce, are expected to gain greater economic and social empowerment through organised cooperatives.

5. ‘Country of the Year’ honour conferred on India at BIOFACH 2026 in Germany.
- The prestigious ‘Country of the Year’ title has been conferred on India at BIOFACH 2026, the world’s leading trade fair for organic products, in Nuremberg, Germany.
- This designation marks India's return to the center stage of global organic farming after 14 years.
- BIOFACH will continue until the 13th of this month.
- Participation in the world’s leading organic trade fair is being organised by Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA).
- A 1,074 square-metre India Pavilion has been set up to showcase the country’s organic strength.
- The pavilion hosts 67 co-exhibitors including exporters, Farmer Producer Organisations, and state government bodies.
- Organic products such as rice, spices, pulses, oilseeds, herbs, and essential oils are being displayed.
- Processed products like mango puree, ginger, turmeric, and large cardamom are also being highlighted.
- Exhibitors from more than 20 States and Union Territories are participating in the pavilion.

6. ‘Delhi LakhpatiBitiya Yojana’ launched to secure education and financial future of girls.
- On 10 February, the ‘Delhi LakhpatiBitiya Yojana’ has been launched by the Delhi government to support girls’ education and financial security.
- The scheme has been introduced as an upgraded version of the Ladli Scheme of 2008.
- Financial assistance of up to ₹56,000 per beneficiary has been announced under the scheme.
- The assistance will be deposited in phased instalments linked to age and education milestones, starting from birth and continuing through graduation or diploma-level studies.
- The accumulated amount will be invested through structured financial instruments to ensure growth over time.
- On maturity, the funds will be transferred directly to Aadhaar-linked bank accounts of beneficiaries.
- Eligibility is limited to girls born in Delhi with family income not exceeding ₹1.20 lakh per year.
- Registration is permitted at birth or at key stages such as school admission and higher education enrolment.
- The scheme restricts benefits to two surviving girl children per family.
- The initiative aims to ensure that no girl child discontinues education due to financial constraints.

- Kaushal Rath is a mobile unit that functions as a travelling digital lab.

- The government said the programme aims to ensure access to technology regardless of geography or background.

8. Death anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya: 11 February
- Pandit Deendayal died on 11 February 1968. He was born on 25 September 1916 in Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh.
- He was a prominent political thinker, economist, and leader of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh.
- He is remembered for his philosophy of Integral Humanism (Ekatma Manav Darshan).
- In 2014, the government declared 25 September as Antyodaya Diwas in honor of the 98th birth anniversary of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya.
- He led the Jana Sangh until his untimely death in 1968.
- He emphasised on development rooted in India’s cultural ethos.
- His vision of development advocated harmony between the individual, society, and nature rather than focusing solely on material progress.

9. The government has imposed a strict three-hour deadline on social media platforms.
- This deadline applies to the removal of AI-generated or deepfake content.
- Such content must be removed only after it has been flagged by the government.
- Even if a court order directs it to do so, it must be removed.
- Changes have been made to the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.
- The amended rules formally define AI-generated content.
- They also provide a legal definition for synthetic content.
- This framework now clearly categorizes manipulated content created using artificial intelligence.
- Digital platforms are prohibited from removing AI labels once they are applied.
- They are also prohibited from suppressing associated metadata.
- These compliance requirements will come into effect from February 20, 2026.

10. The sacred Devnimori relics of Lord Buddha are set to return to India after a seven-day public display in Colombo.
