How long will a man take to walk around the boundary of a square field of area 25 hectares at the rate of 5 km/hr?

Explanation :

We need to find the time taken by the man to walk around the boundary of the square field.

Since speed is given in km/hr we need to convert hectare into km²

We know that,

1 hectare = 0.01 km²

25 hectares = 25 x 0.01 km² = 0.25 km²

As the boundary is square-shaped, the area of the field = (side)²

(side)² = 0.25

side = 0.5 km

Perimeter of the field = 4(side)

The perimeter of the field = 4 x 0.5 = 2.0 km

We know that,

Speed = Distance/ Time

At a speed of 5 km/hr, time taken to cover the entire field = 2/5 hr = 0.4 hr

Time taken = 0.4 x 60 minutes = 24 minutes.

Hence, (c) is the correct answer.
