What will be the angle between hour and minute hand when clock is showing 7 : 12?

Explanation :

7 : 12 = 7 hours and 12 minutes

In 12 hours, hour hand moves 360°

So, in 7 hours hour hand will move= \({360 \over 12}\)×7=210°

Now, for every 60 minutes hour hand will move =\({1 \over 12}\) x 360^o= 30°

Therefore, in 12 minutes hours hand will move =\({30 \over 60}\)×12=6o

Therefore at 7 : 12, hour hand will move = 210 + 6 = 216° clockwise

Also, in 60 minutes, minute hand moves = 360°

So, in 12 minutes minute hand move=\({360 \over 60}\)×12=72^o clockwise

Therefore angle between hour and minute hand at 7 : 12 will be

Þ 2160 – 720 = 144°

Hence, (c) is the correct answer.
