Two arrows are shot at a gap of 10 seconds. The Speed of each arrow is 50 m/s. A bullet fired after 10 seconds from the opposite direction crosses both the arrows in 4 seconds. What is the Speed of the bullet?
Answer
Correct Answer : c ) 75 m/sec
Explanation :According to question:
Speed of arrows = 50 m/s
Both the arrows were shot at an interval of 10 seconds
We know that,Speed=\(Distance \over Time\)
⇒ Distance between both the arrows after 10 sec = 50 × 10 = 500 m
As bullet crosses both the arrows in 4 seconds
⇒Relative Speed of bullet and arrow=\(500 \over 4\)=125 m/sec
⇒ Thus, Speed of bullet =125-50=75 m/sec
Hence, (c) is the correct answer.
