Mohammad bin Tughlaq shifted his capital from Delhi to Daulatabad in 1327.

He was the Sultan of Delhi from 1325 to 1351 and was described as inhuman eccentric with bizarre character. A Moroccan traveler, Ibn Battuta, visited his court. He also introduced token currency made out of cheap metal like bronze but later withdrew it due to the counterfeiting of currency.  

Tughlaq dynasty was founded by Ghiyasuddin Tughlaq that ruled till 1412.
