1. Minister for Food Processing inaugurates Avantee Mega Food Park

• Avantee Mega Food Park was inaugurated by Union Minister for food processing Harsimrat Kaur Badal in Dewas, Madhya Pradesh.
• It is the first Mega Food Park of Central India that will provide employment to about five thousand locals.
• Soyabean, gram, wheat and other grains and vegetables will be processed in this food park.
• In the next phases, warehouses will be opened in Indore, Ujjain, Dhar and Agar.
• Mega Food Park:
  • It is a scheme of Ministry of Food Processing which aims to link agricultural production to the market through cluster based approach.
  • Mega Food Park Project is implemented by a SPV, a corporate body registered under the Companies Act.

2. Nagaland 2^nd Honey Bee Day: 5^th December

• The 2^nd Honey Bee Day was celebrated in Nagaland on 5^th December to create community awareness regarding the importance of honeybees in conservation of biodiversity.
• The day also aims to provide a platform for beekeeping technology to farmers in the field so as a means to sustainable agriculture.
• Theme: “Save Bees, Save Life”

3. Cabinet approves Personal Data Protection Bill

• The Union Cabinet has approved Personal Data Protection Bill that seeks to regulate the processing of personal data and ensure the privacy of an individual.
• The Bill allows processing of personal data only if the consent is provided by an individual. However, there are certain exemptions to this rule.
• The bill also provides certain rights to an individual whose data is being processed; these include- right to get summary of data of their personal data, right to be forgotten, right to transfer the data to other data fiduciary.
• A Data Protection Authority will be set up which will draft regulations, supervise data fiduciaries and handle the grievances of individuals.

4. Startup India Global Venture Capital Summit 2019

• Goa is hosting the second edition of Startup India Global Venture Capital Summit on 6-7 December 2019 for Fund Managers and Limited Partners of Top Global Venture Capital firms. 
• The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) under Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry is organizing the event in collaboration with Goa government.
• Theme- “India Opportunity- Investing in tomorrow together”
• The objectives of this Summit are to present the India’s opportunity in various sectors including FinTech, MedTech, EdTech, Enterprise Software, etc. and to know the best practices for venture capital industry, issues faced by this industry and measures to address them.

5. Pacific Air Chiefs Symposium 2019

• India Air Force Chief Rakesh Kumar Singh Bhadauria is participating in the Pacific Air Chiefs Symposium 2019 (PACS 2019) being held at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii.
• Theme- “A Collaborative Approach to Regional Security”
• The conference provides a platform for all the Air Chiefs from the Indo-Pacific region to discuss the challenges faced, efforts to maintain peace and security in the region and to focus on significant topics like Regional Security, Domain Awareness, Interoperability, etc. 
• 21 chiefs from 20 countries and host country USA are participating in the Symposium.
• This is the 11^th edition of this event. The first Pacific Air Chiefs Symposium was held in 1989.

6. MadhuApp- a mobile app launched by Odisha government

• Chief Minister of Odisha Naveen Patnaik launched a mobile app named ‘MadhuApp’ for school children that will help them in learning their lessons through videos and tutorials.
• The app is named after ‘Utkal Gourab’ Madhusudhan Das and is developed by the Ganjam district administration in line with the 5T initiatives of the Odisha government i.e. Technology, Transparency, Teamwork, Transformation and Time.
• Currently, the study material will be available for Mathematics and Science subjects of Classes V to VIII.

7. 2018 Sabrimala Verdict is not the last word, says CJI

• Chief Justice of India S A Bobde stated that the 2018 Supreme Court judgement in Sabrimala Case of allowing menstruating women entry into Sabrimala Temple may not be the last word.
• The case has been referred to a larger bench of seven judges which will decide for this case.
• Sabrimala Temple:
  • It is a Hindu Temple located in Pathanamthitta District of Kerala and is dedicated to Lord Ayyappa.
  • The entry of women aged between 10 years and 50 years into the temple is barred.

8. NASA’s Parker Solar Probe soaring near Sun

• The NASA’s solar probe soaring near the sun provided data that is giving new insights to the scientists regarding solar wind and space weather.
• The probe has detected sudden, abrupt spikes in the speed of the solar wind that were violent enough to flip the magnetic field itself around (switchbacks).
• Parker Solar Probe:
  • It is spacecraft launched by the US Space Agency NASA in 2018 to journey closer to the Sun. 
  • The mission aims to find more about the Sun’s corona and Solar wind.
  • The probe has ventured as close as 15 million miles to the Sun.
