- Nitesh Siwach won a silver medal, while Prince claimed a bronze medal.
- Sachin Sehrawat also secured a bronze medal. With these results, India's total medal tally in the Greco-Roman category reached five.
- Earlier, Lalit Sehrawat had won a silver medal in the 55 kg category, and Sunil Kumar had secured a bronze medal in the 87 kg category.

- The launch has been carried out by Ghanshyam Prasad, highlighting India’s energy potential.
- India’s hydro pump storage capacity has been discussed, with potential to surpass countries like the United States and Japan.
- The current hydro pump storage capacity of India stands at around 7.5 gigawatt.
- The electrical industry has been encouraged to achieve 100 percent self-reliance in manufacturing and supply chains.
- Key focus areas of ELECRAMA 2027 have been identified as sustainability, innovation, automation, quality, safety, and reliability.
- The event is expected to host around 1,100 exhibitors from across the globe.
- Nearly 25,000 B2B meetings are being targeted to generate business opportunities and industry collaboration.

3. Vice President C P Radhakrishnan addressed J&K youth delegation participating in Watan Ko Jano programme.
- A 250-member youth delegation from Jammu and Kashmir participated in the ‘Watan Ko Jano’ programme’ called at Uprashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.
- ‘Watan Ko Jano’ programme is an initiative by the Ministry of Home Affairs and J&K Government aimed at fostering national integration by providing the youth of J&K an opportunity to explore different parts of India.
- The VP said such initiatives not only help young people connect with the idea of a shared national identity but also build confidence, awareness, and aspiration while fostering the spirit of “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.”
- Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat is a flagship initiative launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 31 October 2015, the 140th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
- It aims to promote unity in diversity, strengthen national integration and enhance mutual understanding through cultural, linguistic and social exchanges among various States/Union Territories.

4. President Droupadi Murmu nominates former Deputy Chairman Harivansh to Rajya Sabha.
- President has nominated former Deputy Chairman of the Upper House (Council of States) Harivansh as a Rajya Sabha member.
- The tenure of Harivansh as a member of the Upper Houses ended on 9th April 2026.
- He has been nominated as a member of the Rajya Sabha after the vacancy was created following the retirement of former Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi.
- Mr. Harivansh has completed his two terms as a member of the Rajya Sabha representing Bihar.
- Under Article 80 of the Indian Constitution, the President nominates 12 members to the Rajya Sabha for six-year terms.
- These members are selected for their special knowledge or practical experience in literature, science, art, and social service.
- Nominated members have the same powers and privileges as elected members but cannot vote in Presidential elections.
- The first nominated woman member was Smt. Rukmini Devi Arundale.
- The concept was borrowed from the Irish Constitution.

5. India & US will expand cooperation under Pax Silica and technology sectors.
- India and the US agreed to further their cooperation under Pax Silica and broader economic and technology engagements, including in AI and critical minerals.
- The issues were discussed during talks between Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri (on a 3 day visit to US) and US Under Secretary of State for Economic Affairs Jacob S Helberg.
- India formally joined Pax Silica on the sidelines of the AI Impact Summit in February 2026.
- Pax Silica brings strategic partnerships and coordinated action across every layer of the supply chain.
- Pax Silica is a US-led strategic coalition launched in December 2025 to secure global supply chains for critical minerals, semiconductors, and AI technologies.
- It unites nations to reduce reliance on single-source suppliers and ensure trusted digital infrastructure.
- Its founding members are the United States, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Australia, Israel, UK, and UAE.

6. An MoU has been signed between Deakin University of Australia and Telangana government to advance artificial intelligence.
- Deakin University of Australia and the Government of Telangana, through its AI innovation hub Aikam, signed a strategic MoU to advance applied AI.
- The agreement was signed by Professor Iain Martin, President and Vice-Chancellor of Deakin University, and Phani Nagarjuna, Founding CEO of Aikam, at the Telangana State Secretariat.
- This partnership focuses on establishing the Aikam-Deakin Hub for Research in Intelligent Technology & Innovation (Aikam-DHRITI).
- The collaboration prioritises mass upskilling to create an AI-fluent workforce, joint translational research, and startup enablement.
- By utilising Deakin’s research capabilities and Telangana’s high-performance infrastructure, the initiative aims to deploy ethical, scalable AI solutions for public service delivery and global economic impact.

7. World Homeopathy Day 2026: 10 April
- World Homoeopathy Day is celebrated every year on 10th April to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr Hahnemann, the founder of Homoeopathy.
- The theme of World Homoeopathy Day 2026 is “Homoeopathy for Sustainable Health”.
- This year’s theme aligns with global priorities such as Universal Health Coverage and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 3 on Good Health and Well-being.
- India accounts for one of the largest homoeopathic workforces in the world, with nearly a quarter of a million registered Homeopathic practitioners.

8. The partnership between India and Mauritius has seen significant progress over the past year.
- External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, after meeting Mauritian Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam in Port Louis, said discussions covered a wide range of areas, including maritime cooperation, development partnership, health, education, capacity building and people-to-people ties.
- Dr. Jaishankar arrived in Mauritius to attend the 9th Indian Ocean Conference.
- During PM Narendra Modi’s visit to the island nation in March 2025, both countries agreed to elevate ties to an enhanced strategic partnership.
- Mauritius holds a unique place in India’s three core foreign policy priorities- the Neighbourhood First policy, Vision Mahasagar and commitment to the Global South.
- India has supported healthcare expansion in Mauritius through projects such as hospitals and health centres. Also, India and Mauritius share an expanding and dynamic partnership in clean energy and environment-friendly solutions.
- The Indian Ocean Conference was started in 2016 by India Foundation in association with think tanks and institutions from the region, with participation from 30 countries.
- The Conference aims to bring together critical states and principal maritime partners on a common platform to deliberate upon the prospects of regional cooperation for Security And Growth for All in the Region (SAGAR).
- The 8th Indian Ocean Conference (IOC 2025) was hosted by India Foundation in association with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Oman, along with the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies, Singapore in Muscat in February 2025.
- India Foundation, in association with the Government of Mauritius, is organising the 9th Indian Ocean Conference (IOC 2026) in Mauritius from April 10 to 12, 2026.
- This year’s theme is “Collective Stewardship for Indian Ocean Governance.

9. Uttar Pradesh makes purchases worth 22,337 crore rupees through GeM portal.
- Uttar Pradesh has set an example for other states in procurement through the GeM portal in the financial year 2025-26, securing the top position in the country.
- Commending Uttar Pradesh’s GeM procurement policy, the Centre has declared the state a role model in transparent procurement.
- Among all departments in the state, the Urban Development Department had the highest share, making purchases worth rupees 3,606 crore through the portal.
- GeM (Government e Marketplace) is a dedicated e-market for different goods & services procured by Government Organisations / Departments / PSUs.
- GeM aims to enhance transparency, efficiency and speed in public procurement.

10. Doordarshan signs MoU with Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) in New Delhi.
- The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting said that the partnership aims to leverage Doordarshan (Prasar Bharati)’s extensive television, radio, and digital ecosystem to amplify the reach of cultural content provided by ICCR.
- Under the MoU, ICCR will provide cultural content and performances, while Doordarshan will undertake its coverage and dissemination across multiple platforms, including television channels, radio networks, OTT platforms, and social media.
- A key feature of the agreement will be the provision for joint ownership of content rights in perpetuity, including digital rights, enabling both organisations to archive and disseminate content for long-term use.
- The agreement will remain in force for a period of three years, with provisions for extension through mutual consent.
