1. A new scheme to provide financial help to one woman in every family to begin occupation of her choice has been approved by Bihar cabinet.
- The scheme approved by Bihar government is aimed at providing employment opportunities for women.
- The scheme is named as ‘Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana’.
- As part of this scheme, one woman from every family in Bihar will get financial help to begin an occupation of her choice.
- 10,000 rupees will be given to each selected woman to start her chosen employment activity as the 1st instalment of financial support.
- Government will soon start the process of receiving applications from interested women.
- The nodal agency for this scheme will be Rural Development Department.
- Urban Development and Housing Department will also provide support as paer requirement.
- The transfer of funds into the beneficiary women’s bank accounts will start from next month itself.
- In the next phase, there will be an assessment six months after the starting of employment.
- If needed, additional help of up to 2 lakh rupees will be given to the selected beneficiary.
- Under the scheme, there will be sevelopment of local markets or haat bazaars across villages and towns.
- These markets will be developed for the sale of products made by women.

2. The annual Mela Patt Festival held in Bhaderwah, J&K.
- The annual three-day Mela Patt festival commenced on 29 August at Khakhal Mohalla in Bhaderwah, Doda district.
- The festival is dedicated to Lord Vasuki Nag, the presiding deity of the Bhaderwah Valley.
- Mela Patt has been celebrated since the 16th century, commemorating the meeting of Mughal Emperor Akbar and King Nag Pal of Bhaderwah.
- This year too, the festival continued its tradition, attracting hundreds of people from different parts of Jammu and Kashmir irrespective of caste or religion to pay tribute to the bravery and spiritual strength of Raja Nagpal.
- The festival is observed on Nag Panchami, seven days after the Kailash Yatra concludes.
- Its unique highlight is the ‘Dikko Dance,’ where men and women of all communities participate together.
- The festival symbolizes peace, communal harmony, and cultural pride of Bhaderwah.
- Mela Pat, first celebrated by Raja Nag Pal when Bhaderwah was known as Bhadrakashi, holds a special place in the cultural and religious fabric of the region.
- Remarkably, the festival has maintained a 600-year history without any untoward incident.

3. India's first tempered glass manufacturing facility inaugurated in Noida.
- On 30 August, India’s first Tempered Glass Manufacturing Facility for Mobile Devices was inaugurated by Union Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw at Noida.
- The facility has been established by Optiemus Electronics in collaboration with Corning Incorporated, USA.
- High-quality tempered glass will be produced under the globally recognized brand “Engineered by Corning.”
- The manufactured products will be supplied to both domestic and international markets.
- The minister stated that indigenous tempered glass production is a big boost for Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat.
- He informed that a Made in India chip is also expected to be rolled out soon.
- Electronics manufacturing in India has grown six times in 11 years, reaching a production value of ₹11.5 lakh crore.
- More than ₹3 lakh crore worth of exports and employment for 2.5 million people have been generated in this sector.
- The factory established in Noida with an initial investment of Rs. 70 crores has a state-of-the-art infrastructure.
- The raw material will be molded into fully tempered and high-quality glass.
- Phase 1 of the Noida facility has an annual capacity of 25 million units and will provide jobs to 600 people.
- In Phase 2, capacity will rise to 200 million units with an investment of ₹800 crore, creating 4,500 direct jobs.

4. India emerging as a Global Healthcare Innovator: CII MedTech Summit.
- On 30 August, the 17th CII Global MedTech Summit 2025 was organised in New Delhi under the theme ‘Innovating for a Healthier Future.’
- Global perception of India has shifted from being a market to being recognized as a healthcare innovator.
- Union Pharmaceuticals Secretary Amit Agrawal urged innovators and investors to collaborate with the government to realize the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
- The summit discussed future opportunities in India’s medical technology sector.
- India is witnessing sustained double-digit growth in the healthcare industry.
- India has taken major steps towards self-reliance by beginning local production of advanced medical equipment.
- Devices such as MRI and CT scan machines, mammography units, ventilators, stents, dialysis machines, heart valves, and implants—once thought impossible to manufacture domestically—are now being produced in the country.
- The government is setting up three dedicated medical device parks, upgrading infrastructure, and implementing a production-linked incentive scheme to support manufacturing.

5. The first multi-lane free-flow tolling in Gujarat is to be implemented by NHAI.
- An agreement was signed between Indian Highways Management Company Limited (IHMCL) (promoted by NHAI) and ICICI Bank for India’s first Multi-Lane Free Flow (MLFF) tolling system.
- The system will be implemented at Choryasi Fee Plaza on NH-48 in Gujarat.
- The contract was signed in the presence of NHAI Chairman Shri Santosh Kumar Yadav.
- The signing of the contract agreement is a major step towards barrier-free tolling, which will enable seamless electronic toll collection through FASTag.
- Choryasi Fee Plaza will become the first barrier-free toll plaza in the country.
- Additionally, an agreement for MLFF tolling was also signed for Gharaunda Fee Plaza in Haryana on NH-44.
- NHAI plans to roll out MLFF tolling at 25 National Highway plazas in the current financial year.
- The system will enable FASTag and Vehicle Registration Number-based tolling using RFID readers and ANPR cameras.
- Vehicles will no longer be required to stop at toll plazas, reducing congestion and travel time.
- The system is expected to enhance fuel efficiency, lower emissions, and improve toll revenue collection.
- MLFF tolling is seen as a milestone towards a transparent, efficient, and technology-driven highway network in India.

6. The government launched Aadi Vaani—an AI translator for tribal languages.
- On September 1, 2025, the beta version of Adi Vani, the Central government's artificial intelligence-based translation model for tribal languages in India, was launched.
- The beta version of Adi Vaani is India’s first AI-powered translator for tribal languages.
- The initiative has been developed under Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh.
- The Ministry of Tribal Affairs announced that the tool will promote tribal empowerment and inclusivity.
- Adi Vaani aims to preserve India’s vast tribal linguistic diversity.
- The translator will bridge communication gaps between tribal and non-tribal communities.

7. Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah inaugurated the Janrakshak projects under Dial 112 in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
- Dial 112 combines police, ambulance, fire, women, child, and disaster helplines into one emergency number.
- A fleet of 1000 Janrakshak PCR vans was launched.
- These vehicles are fitted with GPS, wireless sets, light bars, and trained staff.
- The Gujarat government will spend ₹92 crore each year on this project.
- It will be run through a 24x7 State Emergency Response Centre in Ahmedabad.
- The Mansa Police Station received BIS certification. Amit Shah said this was personally meaningful as Mansa is his birthplace.
- The project is supported by a modern control room. It has 150 seats and will link all emergency services for quick response.
- He said that Modi’s government responded strongly to attacks like Uri and Pulwama.
- India carried out surgical strikes and air strikes. It also launched 'Operation Sindoor,' which destroyed terror camps 100 km inside Pakistan.
- 'Operation Mahadev' eliminated the terrorists behind the Pahalgam attack.
- More than 10,000 militants have surrendered in the North-East.
- Shah said Naxalism will be fully eliminated by 31 March 2026.
- Before the inauguration, Shah attended several programs in Ahmedabad.
- He inaugurated Urban Health Centers in Gota and Chandlodia. He planted trees in Ranip, Stadium, and Ghatlodia.

8. Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the plenary session of the SCO Summit in Tianjin, China.

- Prime Minister Modi also spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
- He also exchanged views with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
- Modi and Xi had wide-ranging talks. These discussions focused on rebuilding and improving India-China relations.
- PM Modi compared border peace to an insurance policy for India-China relations.
- Both leaders agreed to use existing mechanisms to maintain peace.
- They also agreed to avoid any disturbances to the broader relationship.
- In recent months, India and China have taken steps to reset strained ties.
- These ties had been badly damaged by the Galwan Valley clashes in June 2020.
- SCO Tianjin Summit 2025 is the 25th meeting of the Heads of State Council of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
- It took place in Tianjin, China from August 31 to September 1, 2025.
- This was the fifth time China has hosted the SCO summit.

9. The Ministry of Ayush will organize a two-day summit on “National Ayush Mission and Capacity Building in States” on September 3–4, 2025, at the All India Institute of Ayurveda in New Delhi.

The conference will be led by Union Minister Shri Prataprao Jadhav, who holds independent charge of Ayush as well as being Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare.
- The summit will focus on incorporating state-level and grassroots inputs to strengthen and broaden the scope of the National Ayush Mission (NAM).
- NAM is a flagship program that promotes holistic health by integrating Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Sowa Rigpa, and Homeopathy.
- This summit concludes a series of six thematic discussions announced by the Prime Minister during the 4th Chief Secretaries’ Conference in 2025.
- The six meetings were designed to advance capacity building by engaging central, state, and UT officials at multiple levels.
- NITI Aayog identified “National Ayush Mission and Capacity Building in States” as the final theme and appointed the Ministry of Ayush as the lead ministry.
- The summit reflects the Government of India’s resolve to strengthen Ayush as a central part of the healthcare system.
- It also underscores the need for States and UTs to build stronger institutional capacity to fully realize the objectives of the National Ayush Mission.

10. NeGD has achieved pan-India integration of nearly 2,000 e-government services on DigiLocker and e-District Platforms.
- NeGD has linked close to 2,000 digital public services through DigiLocker and e-District platforms.
- This coverage now spans all 36 states and union territories of India.
- People can use these platforms to get certificates, avail welfare schemes, pay bills, and access other government services easily.
- The move makes services more accessible and transparent.
- Among the states, Maharashtra leads with 254 integrated services.
- Delhi follows with 123, Karnataka with 113, Assam with 102, and Uttar Pradesh with 86.
- In total, 1,938 services are currently active nationwide.
- NeGD also plans to expand by adopting AI-based tools to improve delivery.
- Formed in 2009 under the Ministry of Electronics and IT, NeGD operates as an Independent Business Division within the Digital India Corporation.
- Since its establishment, it has played a key role in managing programmes and executing e-Governance projects.
- It also provides expert guidance and technical support to ministries, state governments, and other agencies.
