1. PM Modi will visit Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, on November 19 and address South India Natural Farming Summit.

  • The summit will be organized by Farmers’ associations in Tamilnadu.
  • PM is also expected to interact with 50 organic agriculture scientists from Southern states.
  • The summit aims to form policies to promote widespread adoption of natural farming practices and seeks to create a people-driven movement for agriculture.
  • The focus is on making agriculture economically sustainable and socially inclusive.
  • In addition to an exhibition with 300 stalls, there will be live demonstrations and interactive sessions with scientists and policymakers.
  • The summit is aligned with national initiatives such as Bharatiya Prakritik Krishi Paddi and Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana.

2. ₹1,500 cr worth projects to modernize New Mangalore Port have been launched by Government.

  • Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal launched 20 projects worth ₹1,500 crore at New Mangalore Port.
  • The projects were launched as part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the New Mangalore Port Authority in Mangaluru.
  • He highlighted that modernization and digitalization initiatives have significantly increased port capacities.
  • Cargo handling of New Mangalore Port has increased from 90,000 tonnes to 46 million tonnes.
  • Union Minister for Renewable Energy Prahlad Joshi emphasized India’s emergence as the world’s fourth-largest economy.
  • New Mangalore Port is an all-weather port at Panambur, Mangalore in Karnataka. It is deepest inner harbour on the west coast.

3. The 30th CII Partnership Summit 2025 inaugurated by the vice president.

  • On 14 November, the 30th CII Partnership Summit 2025 was inaugurated by Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
  • The two-day event was organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry with support from the Government of India and the Andhra Pradesh Government.
  • India’s rapid emergence as a prosperous nation under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership was highlighted by the Vice President.
  • The country’s strong economic growth, promising startup ecosystem, and expanding digital infrastructure were emphasised.
  • India is on its way to becoming the world's third largest economy and is developing as a major startup hub.
  • Andhra Pradesh was described as one of India’s best investment destinations where the Centre and State are working harmoniously.
  • Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu outlined the State’s shift from ease of doing business to speed of doing business with real-time approvals.
  • The State’s 10-point strategy to boost national investments and its development of drone, electronics, aerospace, space, semiconductor and defence corridors was presented.
  • Shri Naidu said the state has achieved success in attracting US$ 20 billion and creating 2 million jobs in 17 months, with a future target of US$ 0.5 trillion investment and 5 million jobs.

4. A landmark One-Stop Travel System approved by the GCC for seamless Gulf travel.

  • A landmark one-stop travel system was approved by the Gulf Cooperation Council to simplify movement across member states.
  • The United Arab Emirates and Bahrain were selected for the pilot phase beginning in December 2025.
  • The decision was announced during the 42nd meeting of GCC interior ministers in Kuwait City.
  • The system was designed to allow Gulf citizens to complete all travel checks at a single integrated point.
  • The initiative will streamline immigration, customs and security procedures into one checkpoint for air travellers.
  • Once fully implemented, flying across the Gulf will be as simple as travelling between cities in the same country, with passengers able to land at their destination, collect baggage and exit without further formalities.
  • The system will operate on a shared electronic platform enabling coordinated procedures and data exchange among member states.
  • If successful, expansion to all six GCC nations, including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman and Qatar, will follow.
  • The Gulf Railway Authority confirmed that GCC nations are on track to complete the 2,177 km regional rail network by December 2030.
  • The multi-billion-dollar project will connect all six GCC nations, ensuring smooth border crossings and fully integrated passenger and freight transport.

5. The Bihar Assembly Elections were swept by the ruling NDA with a massive mandate.

  • On 14 November, a sweeping victory was secured by the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the Bihar Assembly elections.
  • A total of 202 seats were won in the 243-member House, crossing the majority requirement of 122 seats.
  • The BJP emerged as the largest party with 89 seats.
  • The JD(U), led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, won 85 seats, while the Union Minister Chirag Paswan-led Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) bagged 19 seats.
  • Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular), led by former chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, won five seats, while the Upendra Kushwaha-led Rashtriya Lok Morcha secured four seats.
  • The RJD-led Mahagathbandhan won only 35 seats, with RJD securing 25 and Congress six.
  • While the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) Liberation won two seats, the CPI(M) and the Indian Inclusive Party won one seat each.
  • The AIMIM, led by Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi, won five seats, while the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) got one seat.
  • The state recorded a historic voter turnout of 67.13% during the two-phase elections held on 6 and 11 November.

6. World Diabetes Day 2025: 14 November

  • Every year on 14 November, World Diabetes Day is celebrated.
  • The day raises awareness of diabetes as a global public health issue.
  • The theme of World Diabetes Day 2025 is ‘Diabetes across life stages.’
  • It is also observed to mark the birth anniversary of Sir Frederick Banting.
  • He discovered the insulin hormone along with Charles Herbert Best in 1922.
  • In 1991, World Diabetes Day was first celebrated by the International Diabetes Federation and the World Health Organization to raise awareness about diabetes.
  • In 2006, the United Nations officially recognized World Diabetes Day.
  • On the occasion of World Diabetes Day, the World Health Organization's South-East Asia Region has renewed its call for urgent and coordinated action to tackle the growing burden of diabetes.
  • Diabetes now affects more than 279 million adults in the region, nearly a third of the global total.
  • Across the region, only one in three adults with diabetes receives treatment, and less than 15% are able to adequately control their blood sugar.
  • Diabetes:
  • It is a chronic disease, which occurs when the pancreas does not produce enough insulin, or when the body cannot effectively use the insulin.
  • This leads to an increased concentration of glucose in the blood.
  • Insulin is a hormone that regulates blood glucose.
  • Type 1 diabetes cannot be prevented but can be well managed, while the risk of type 2 diabetes can be reduced by exercise, a healthy diet, and avoiding tobacco and alcohol.

7. India's wholesale inflation declined deeper into negative territory and reached at –1.21% in October.

  • India's wholesale inflation had stood at 0.13% in September.
  • Cheaper food items, crude oil, natural gas, electricity, mineral oils and basic metal products led the negative rate of inflation during the last month.
  • Between September and October, the WPI food index remained steady at 192.0.
  • Its annual inflation rate declined to -5.04%. Its annual inflation rate stood at -1.99% a month earlier.
  • WPI food index remained in deflation for the second consecutive month.
  • Primary commodities recorded a 6.18% deflation. Fuel and power prices also registered 2.55% deflation.
  • Price growth in manufactured goods slowed to 1.54% in October from 2.33% in September.
  • WPI tracks price movements at the wholesale level. CPI measures shifts in consumer prices.
  • Retail inflation earlier eased to 0.25% in October.

  • 3rd Indian Military Heritage Festival places emphasis on traditional military legacy and modern defence technology.
  • Raksha Rajya Mantri Sanjay Seth was the Chief Guest.
  • Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth addressed the inaugural session of 3rd Indian Military Heritage Festival at the United Service Institution of India in New Delhi.
  • Minister highlighted the need to safeguard India’s military traditions.
  • He also emphasised on the importance of strenghtening self-reliance and innovation in defence.
  • As per the minister, domestic innovation, indigenisation and emerging technologies remain vital pillars of India’s defence readiness.
  • At the event, he unveiled several defence-related publications.
  • These included The Sukraniti: Statecraft and Warcraft by Col PK Gautam (Retd) and Honours & Awards of the Indian Armed Forces by Dr AK Mishra.
  • The festival features discussions, displays and public interactions to broaden understanding of India’s military past and its role in shaping current security priorities.

  • He addressed the Annual Tech Fest INNOTECH'25 at a Ghaziabad uinversity.
  • He noted India’s rise in the Global Innovation Index from Rank 81 to Rank 38.
  • He cited achievements such as Chandrayaan-3 and India’s pioneering DNA vaccine.
  • He praised platforms like INNOTECH ’25 for fostering private-sector engagement.
  • He urged the stiudents to pursue entrepreneurial and technology-driven careers.
  • He reviewed student innovations across Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Internet of Things, automation, biotech and disaster management.

10. Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, addressed the 2nd edition of Udyog Samagam 2025.

  • It was organised by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade.
  • Industries and Commerce Ministers from 14 States and Union Territories, came together during the conference.
  • They came together review progress under the Business Reforms Action Plan 2024 and to felicitate the best-performing States and UTs.
  • At Udyog Samagam 2025, States and UTs were honoured for excellence under Business Reforms Action Plan 2024 across 25 reform areas.
  • Uttarakhand and Punjab were top achievers across five reform areas.
  • Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Jammu & Kashmir, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, and Chhattisgarh were recognised for being top achievers across four reform areas.
  • Maharashtra, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Odisha, and Uttar Pradesh were top achievers across three reform areas.
  • Gujarat, Karnataka, and Tripura were recognised for being top achievers across two reform areas.
  • Goa and Meghalaya were recognised across one reform area.
  • Odisha, Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, Assam, Uttarakhand, Jammu & Kashmir, and Karnataka were fast movers under  Category Y (States/UTs with established business systems).
  • All States/UTs were classified as Aspirers under Category X (North-Eastern States and UTs with developing systems).
  • Business Reforms Action Plan 2024 covered 434 reform points. Under scoring framework, 70 percent weightage was applied to user feedback and 30 percent weightage was applied to evidence.
