1. Rising Global Summit 2025 is being hosted by Telangana in Hyderabad.
- The two-day summit started from 8 December 2025 at the Bharat Future City in Hyderabad.
- Governor Jishnu Dev Verma formally inaugurated the event.
- Global leaders, industry heads and subject experts will attend 27 sessions on sectors such as energy, IT, healthcare, and startups.
- Major organisations, including the WHO, World Bank, ADB, and UNICEF, are taking part in the summit.
- Telangana Rising 2047 vision document will be released by Telangana, with aims for a three-trillion-dollar economy by 2047.
- For the summit, Sports icons like P.V. Sindhu and Anil Kumble and prominent film personalities are invited.
- During the summit, investment MoUs worth nearly 3 lakh crore rupees are expected to be signed.
- The summit is an economic conclave to show Telangana’s industrial strengths and highlight its innovation ecosystem.
- The summit seeks to generate large-scale employment opportunities for the youth.
- Nearly 150 international delegates have confirmed participation.
- These delegates come from 44 countries and include more than 40 representatives from United States.

2. Simranpreet Kaur Brar won the gold in women’s 25m pistol at the ISSF World Cup Final 2025.
- ISSF World Cup Final 2025 took place in Doha, Qatar. She scored 41 hits out of 50 shots.
- Her performance brought her to same level as of Junior World Record of Paris Olympics Champion Yang Ji-In of South Korea.
- In the men’s 50m rifle 3-positions event, Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar won the silver medal.
- He achieved total score of 413.3. He finished only 0.9 points behind Czechia’s Jiri Privratsky.
- Jiri Privratsky won gold medal with a score of 414.2 in the final organised under the ISSF’s new 40-shot format.
- Olympic champion Liu Yukun of China won the bronze medal.
- India currently occupies second place on the medal tally.
- Indian players won five medals so far. These include two gold medals, two silver medals and one bronze medal.
- ISSF World Cup Final 2025 is being held in Doha, Qatar from 4-9 December. It includes rifle, pistol, and shotgun events.

3. The mission Watershed PUNARUTTHAN launched in Nagaland to revive water bodies.
- Mission Watershed PUNARUTTHAN was launched along with the State-Level Watershed Mahotsav 2025 at Naga Solidarity Park in Kohima.
- The mission was initiated to revive traditional water bodies, restore degraded land and strengthen water-harvesting systems in Nagaland.
- The program is being implemented with community participation and convergence with schemes such as MGNREGA.
- The launch was addressed by Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications, Dr. Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar.
- The minister stated that water security has been recognized as a matter of national security.
- Nagaland’s role in community-led watershed management was highlighted as a model for future generations.
- Under PM Krishi Sinchayee Yojana, 14 watershed projects have been approved in the state so far.
- An amount of ₹140 crore was sanctioned, of which ₹80 crore has been released.
- As part of watershed development, 555 water-harvesting structures were renovated, and 120 springs were restored.
- Dr. Chandrasekhar explained that Northeastern states receive 90% central assistance, while the typical center-state ratio is 60:40.
- He emphasized that India has only 4% of the world's renewable freshwater resources, yet it is home to 18% of the world's population.

4. Rajasthan became the first state to digitise 100% voter rolls under SIR.
- Complete digitisation of electoral rolls under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) was achieved by Rajasthan.
- The state was declared the first in the country to accomplish 100% digitisation of voter data.
- The achievement was attributed to coordinated efforts of BLOs, supervisors, and district election officials.
- Over 97% voter mapping has been completed, significantly reducing document requirements.
- As a result, only about 3% of voters will need to submit documents during claims and objections.
- High-quality voter mapping has made the SIR process simpler, more transparent and efficient.
- The dedication of grassroots-level staff was recognised as central to the success.
- The draft electoral roll will be published on December 16.
- Claims and objections can be filed from December 16 to January 15, 2026.
- The final electoral roll is scheduled to be published on February 14, 2026.

5. An MoU signed between NMDC and IIT Kanpur to strengthen cybersecurity.
- An MoU has been signed between India’s largest iron ore producer, NMDC, and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur in a landmark move aimed at strengthening industry–academia collaboration.
- The agreement was aimed at promoting digital technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
- The MoU was signed by senior officials of NMDC and IIT Kanpur in the presence of academic leadership.
- Collaboration will be undertaken in cybersecurity risk assessment and governance frameworks.
- AI and ML integration across NMDC’s operations will be advanced through the partnership.
- Joint efforts will cover security operations, incident response and compliance support.
- Training programmes and capacity-building initiatives will be conducted jointly.

- Proof-of-concept digital solutions will be co-developed by both institutions.

8. A bill to amend the Maharashtra Public Trusts Act has been introduced by the state government.
- Its aim is to standardise trust governance, reduce litigation, and ensure routine oversight among trust Board members.
- The bill inserts a new section 30A for the appointment of tenure trustees and perpetual trustees when instrument of trusts does not include any specific provision.
- The bill says the Maharashtra Public Trusts Act was made to regulate the administration of public, religious and charitable trusts in Maharashtra.
- According to the Bill, Maharashtra Public Trusts Act was also enacted to make provisions for the administration of public, religious and charitable trusts in Maharashtra.
- As per the bill, perpetual trustees (appointed for life) cannot be more than 25% of the total strength of the Board of Trustees.
- If term for the appointment of a trustee is not specified in the trust deed they will deemed to be a tenure trustee, usually for up to five years.
- The Bill also amends subsection (6) of Section 18 of the Act.
- It also increases the penalties for violation of certain provisions of the Act.
- Public trusts, including major temples and charities, may invest up to half of their corpus in approved market-linked securities.
- They may do so without needing individual approvals from the Charity Commissioner.

9. In badminton, Sanskar Saraswat won Men’s Singles Title at 2025 Guwahati Masters.
- He won over his compatriot Mithun Manjunath 21-11, 17-21, 21-13 in the final.
- This victory marks first Super 100 title of Sanskar.
- In men’s doubles, India’s Pruthvi Krishnamurthy Roy and K. Sai Pratheek lost match against Malaysia’s Aaron Tai and Kang Khai Xing.
- The Malaysian pair secured the title with a score of 21-13, 21-18.
- 2025 Guwahati Masters took place at the Sarju Sarai Indoor Sports Complex, Guwahati, Assam from 2 to 7 December 2025.
- It was also known as Yonex-Sunrise Guwahati Masters 2025. It was the third edition of Guwahati Masters championships.

10. The eighth Smart India Hackathon 2025 has started on 8 December across 60 nodal centres in India.
- The 8th edition of the Smart India Hackathon was announced by the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell and AICTE.
- The Software Grand Finale is being hosted by Prin. L. N. Welingkar Institute of Management Development & Research (WeSchool) in Mumbai on 8 December and 9 December.
- This year’s hackathon received 72,165 idea submissions from 68,766 student teams.
- The submissions addressed 271 problem statements from ministeries, government departments, PSUs, and industries.
- Out of these, 1,360 teams qualified for the Grand Finale. These teams comprised more than 8000 students and over 1300 mentors.
- Since 2017, Smart India Hackathon has expanded into the world’s largest open innovation platform.
- It promotes design thinking, creative problem-solving, and entrepreneurship.
- The 2025 edition is focused on space technology, clean energy, cybersecurity, defence, MedTech, robotics, and smart education.
