1. Asia Pacific Accident Investigation Group meeting and workshop is being hosted by India for the first time.
- The four-day (28-31 October 2025) meeting and workshop is being hosted by Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) on behalf of Ministry of Civil Aviation.
- Union Minister of Civil Aviation Shri Rammohan Naidu inaugurated the event. The workshop will be held on 28-29 October 2025.
- Asia Pacific Accident Investigation Group meeting is held annually.
- ICAO member states in the Asia Pacific region and various international organizations take part in the meeting.
- Any one of the ICAO member states in Asia Pacific region generally hosts the meeting.
- India is hosting meeting for the first time. About 90 representatives from ICAO and from aircraft accident investigation authorirtes of Asia Pacific countries will take part.
- At the meeting, there will be discussion on different aspects of aircraft accident investigations, including the processes and reporting.

2. Maha MedTech Mission has been launched by Anusandhan National Research Foundation, in collaboration with the Indian Council of Medical Research and the Gates Foundation.
- The aim of Mission for Advancement in High-Impact Areas (MAHA)-Medical Technology (Maha MedTech) is to accelerate innovation in India’s medical technology sector.
- It also aims to reduce reliance on high-cost imports.
- Promotion of equitable access to affordable and high-quality medical technologies is also its aim.
- Under the mission, funding support will be provided to Academic and R&D institutions, Hospitals, Startups, MSMEs, MedTech industry.
- The mission includes milestone-linked funding of ₹5–25 crore per project. The funding can go up to ₹50 crore in exceptional cases.
- Under the mission, projects that bring impactful MedTech solutions to market will be supported.
- Under the mission, enabling support will be provided through national initiatives such as Patent Mitra (IP protection and technology transfer), MedTech Mitra (regulatory guidance and clearances).

4. ISRO’s LVM3 moved to the launch pad ahead of the November 2 mission with the CMS-03 satellite.
- India's heaviest launch vehicle, LVM3, has been rolled out at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre launch pad in Sriharikota, marking the final stage of preparation for its next mission.
- The fully integrated vehicle carrying the CMS-03 communication satellite was moved on October 26, 2025.

- Named LVM3-M5, this will be the fifth operational flight of India's most powerful rocket.
- The mission aims to place CMS-03, an advanced multi-band communication satellite, into Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO).

5. The government approved an investment of Rs 5,532 crore for seven projects under the ECMS.
- The Government of India has approved the first batch of seven projects under the Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS).
- The projects involve a total investment of ₹5,532 crore and are expected to boost component production worth ₹36,559 crore and create over 5,100 direct jobs.
- The initiative is aimed at making India self-reliant in producing High-Density Interconnect (HDI) PCBs, Multi-Layer PCBs, Camera Modules, Copper Clad Laminates, and Polypropylene Films.
- The ECMS has received 249 applications representing investments of ₹1.15 lakh crore and the potential creation of 1.42 lakh jobs.
- The newly approved units are located across Tamil Nadu (5), Andhra Pradesh (1), and Madhya Pradesh (1).
- The projects will help meet 20% of India’s domestic PCB demand and 15% of camera module sub-assembly requirements.
- For the first time, a domestic facility for manufacturing Copper Clad Laminates (CCL) will be established in India.
- Polypropylene films used in capacitors for the electronics, automotive, and telecom sectors will now be produced locally.
- These projects will reduce import dependency, build trusted supply chains, and lower product costs.

6. Central support assured by PM Modi as Cyclone Montha approaches the Andhra Pradesh coast.
- The cyclonic storm over the Bay of Bengal is moving northwestwards at a speed of 17 kmph.
- It currently lies about 230 km south-southeast of Machilipatnam and 310 km south-southeast of Kakinada.
- A red alert has been issued for Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and adjoining South Odisha coasts.
- It is likely to move north-northwestwards and intensify into a severe cyclonic storm on October 28.

8. The Election Commission has announced the launch of the second phase of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
- As per Eletion Commission, SIR will be held across 12 states and Union Territories.
- The regions included in this phase are Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Puducherry, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal.
- As per Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, this revision aims to ensure greater accuracy, transparency, and integrity in the electoral rolls.
- Around 51 crore registered voters will be covered in the second phase of the SIR.
- Voter lists in all 12 states and Union Territories have been frozen at midnight of 27 October to facilitate the revision process.
- The printing of enumeration forms and training sessions for Booth Level Officers (BLOs) has begun.
- Enumeration activities will start on 4th November and continue for one month. These activities will verify and update voter details.
- The draft electoral rolls will be made public on 9th December. The final voter lists will be released on 7th February.
- The Election Commission reported zero appeals in the first phase of the SIR.
- BLOs will distribute specially designed enumeration forms to all existing voters during this phase.
- Voters listed in the 2003 rolls are exempt from submitting any additional identification documents during verification.
- Individuals not on the 2003 voter list but whose parents were included in that list will also be exempted from providing extra documentation.

9. Indigenously developed survey vessel Ikshak of Indian Navy will be formally commissioned at the Naval Base in Kochi on December 6.
